In 1970, Richard and Kay Moore found the perfect place to raise a family in Lansing, NY. In 1971 the first Christmas trees were planted, and the farm sold only wholesale cut Christmas trees from 1979 until 1987 when the farm opened for “choose and cut” tree sales. Their children, Michelle, Gretchen, and Jason grew up on the 30-acre Christmas tree farm and helped grow the family business into the sustainable business it is today.
In 1990, an additional 30 tillable acres were purchased directly across the road from Moore Tree Farm where additional evergreen trees are raised.
In 1998, Moore Tree Farm started digging and selling live evergreens for homeowners and landscapers to plant in the spring and fall.
In 2015, Moore Tree Farm expanded with a large sales barn to display premium fresh cut evergreens under cover from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
In 2019, Jason and his wife Carrie Moore began selling pumpkins at a roadside stand directly across the road from the tree farm entrance.
In 2021, Moore Tree Farm started doing business as Moore Family Farms and opened to the public for fall family fun from September – October directly across the road from the tree farm entrance. The farm has approximately 50 acres of Christmas trees, a 5-acre corn maze, nearly 2 acres of pumpkins, and several acres of attractions for the family. It is not uncommon to find all 3 generations helping out at the farm on weekends. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our farm with you!
